**About CATR** The Center of Advanced Technologies in Rehabilitation (CATR) is a multidisciplinary research and development center within Sheba Medical Center. CATR brings together clinical expertise, engineering, neuroscience, and advanced technology to develop, evaluate, and integrate innovative tools for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. As part of Israel’s largest medical center, CATR has direct access to diverse clinical populations and works closely with leading clinicians across rehabilitation, neurology, psychiatry, orthopedics, geriatrics, diabetes care, and related fields. This unique environment enables translational research that connects laboratory development with real clinical needs. CATR’s technological infrastructure includes virtual reality, robotics, motion and gait analysis, biological signal analysis, and computer-assisted rehabilitation environments. Our research and development activities focus on areas including: • Motor learning and sensory-motor-cognitive integration in gait and posture • Physiology and pathophysiology of gait, balance, and vestibular function • Gait and equilibrium disturbances in neurological and other clinical populations • Interactions between psychological, psychiatric, cognitive, and motor processes • Fear and anxiety-related learning, assessment, and treatment in ecologically valid environments • Development and implementation of technology-based rehabilitation applications In addition to research, CATR develops and supports clinical applications for the rehabilitation hospital, including virtual reality-based treatments for fear of flight, balance training for neurological and Parkinson’s disease patients, and interventions for older adults.
