Description About Okoora Okoora is building the global category of Embedded FX Infrastructure. Our infrastructure powers cross-border financial activity across payments, FX execution, multi-currency operations, and risk management. We operate in regulated financial environments and work with banks, payment providers, financial institutions, and global partners across multiple jurisdictions. At Okoora, compliance and operational controls are part of the infrastructure that enables the business to scale safely, efficiently, and globally. The Role We are looking for a Compliance & Controls Operations Specialist to join Okoora’s regulatory and compliance operations team. This is a hands-on operational role at the center of the company’s day-to-day compliance, controls, onboarding, monitoring, and operational review processes. You will work directly with banks, financial institutions, payment partners, customers, and internal teams to support onboarding, compliance operations, regulatory due diligence, monitoring activities, operational controls, and ongoing reviews. At the same time, you will be part of building a modern AI-native operational environment where significant parts of compliance and control workflows are automated through AI tools, workflows, and intelligent systems. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who already has real experience in compliance or financial operations, is highly organized, sharp, curious, and excited about combining operational work with AI-driven automation. What You Will Do Compliance Operations • Handle onboarding, KYC/KYB, screening, and verification processes. • Monitor transactions, review alerts, and support investigations. • Prepare compliance documentation and work with banks and partners. • Maintain records and support regulatory reporting. Controls & Operational Reviews • Perform operational controls and QA reviews. • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and unusual activity. • Support validations, testing, and process improvements. AI & Automation • Use AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude in daily workflows. • Support automation and optimization of compliance processes. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI. Requirements • 2+ years in Compliance, AML, KYC/KYB, payments, or financial operations. • Experience in fintech, banks, financial services, or regulated environments. • Familiarity with onboarding, monitoring, and operational reviews. • Experience working with banks or payment providers is an advantage. • Daily use of AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude. • Interest in automation and AI-driven workflows. • Fast learner with ability to improve processes.
