Founding Design Engineer | stepscale ← All open roles Founding Design Engineer Remote (EU / Israel timezones) · Full-time · Competitive + meaningful equity About the role You will own how stepscale AI looks and feels - the product UI, the marketing site, the brand artefacts, and the engineering-facing surfaces (CLI output, slack alerts, dashboards). This is a hands-on role for someone who writes production frontend code and cares deeply about visual craft. What you will work on • The customer-facing dashboard that visualises scaling history, anomalies, and savings • The CLI output and Slack alerts - these are real UI surfaces • The marketing site (Astro, Tailwind), already in a good place but in need of an opinionated owner • The component system that every surface above shares What we are looking for • 4+ years shipping production frontend, ideally including ownership over a complete product surface • Real design sensibility - you can mock something convincing in Figma and translate it into production code • Strong taste for B2B SaaS / developer tools UI; you can name three product UIs you respect and articulate why • Comfortable working without a design or product manager - this is a self-driving role • Bonus: prior experience visualising time-series data or infrastructure state How we work Remote, async by default.
