About the Role
This Mechanical Systems Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rotating and mechanical equipment across the facility. The successful candidate will support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, contribute to equipment integrity programs, and uphold high standards of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Technical Execution
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Engines, gearboxes, and related mechanical systems
Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools, vibration analysis, and equipment history
Support overhauls, breakdowns, and planned shutdown activities
Ensure all work is performed according to engineering drawings, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, and maintenance procedures
Identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend long‑term solutions
Safety & Compliance
Execute maintenance work in strict compliance with safety procedures MOC (Management of change), JRA (Job Risk Analyses), Control of Work, Start Work Checks
Participate in toolbox talks and actively contribute to a safe working environment
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and compliance checks
Ensure proper hazardous energy isolation and safe work practices
Project & Integrity Support
Assist with mechanical scopes of projects, upgrades
Support asset integrity programs including vibration monitoring, lubrication management, and equipment condition assessment
Participate in commissioning and start-up of new rotating equipment
Collaborate with inspection teams on mechanical integrity and equipment health assessments
Collaboration with Supply Chain
Identify required spare parts and support procurement of mechanical components and consumables
Ensure proper storage and preservation of spare parts
Assist with coordination of specialized vendors and third‑party maintenance services
Maintenance Planning & CMMS
Provide feedback to planners and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) superusers for scheduling improvement
Update CMMS with detailed work order information
Support continuous improvement of job plans, procedures, and maintenance strategies
Ensure maintenance frequencies follow regulatory, and reliability best practices
Team Contribution & Performance
Collaborate effectively with technicians, engineers, and operations staff
Support reliability initiatives and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Maintain strong preventive maintenance discipline to minimize unplanned shutdowns
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience with rotating equipment maintenance, preferably in the heavy vehicle, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sector
Proven technical ability working with pumps, compressors, engines, hydraulics, mechanical seals, and precision alignment
Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, PID’s, tolerances, and precision maintenance techniques
English skills — must be able to read, speak, and write
Good interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities
High attention to detail, strong safety mindset, and ability to work independently
Technical certification or diploma in Mechanics
Experience in turbine maintenance experience (gas turbines or micro‑turbines) is a strong advantage
Working Conditions
Position based in Israel at Ashdod Onshore Terminal
May require overtime or call‑out duties based on operational needs
Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor / Mechanical Lead
