Description Join the founding AI team building Gambit's core engine from scratch. You'll lead applied research end-to-end, from ideation through production, on the agent that powers every Gambit superpower. The orchestrator, the specialized tools, the agentic workflows, you'll have your hands on all of it. You get to shape foundational technology at the moment it's being defined. About the Role Applied research, end-to-end: From problem framing and prototyping through evaluation, hardening, and rollout. Your research ships. Core agent contributions: Hands-on work on the orchestrator, specialized tools, and agentic workflows that power Gambit. AI best practices: Champion patterns, evals, and methodologies that help R&D teams design and implement AI-powered features. Cross-team collaboration: Partner with product, platform, and security research teams, working closely with R&D leadership to drive technical innovation. Frontier awareness: Track LLM, ML, and agentic research, and bring what's ready for production into the product. Requirements Master's in Computer Science or equivalent 3+ years shipping production-class machine learning 2+ years hands-on with LLMs, ideally multi-step architectures like RAG and agentic systems Solid grasp of transformers, ReAct, LLM evaluation methodologies, and common frameworks Comfortable building in an ambiguous, founding-team environment Strategic researcher who ships.
