We're seeking an R&D Team lead with a strong software engineering background and proven leadership capabilities to lead the development of Classiq's quantum execution platform. This role combines scalable software engineering with quantum computing to build the infrastructure and execution capabilities that bring quantum applications to life across diverse hardware and simulator backends What you'll do Lead and grow a team of talented quantum software engineers. Own the architecture, technical direction, and delivery of Classiq's quantum execution platform. Build scalable infrastructure for orchestrating quantum execution across hardware providers, simulators, and cloud environments. Develop advanced execution capabilities, including hybrid quantum-classical workflows and variational algorithms such as VQE and QAOA. Develop a deep understanding of quantum applications and backend capabilities to deliver the best execution performance across hardware and simulators. Drive integrations with leading quantum hardware providers and simulators. Uphold high standards of software quality, reliability, and engineering excellence. Collaborate closely with compiler, algorithms, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver production-ready quantum capabilities. Who you are Proven experience leading high-performing software engineering or R&D teams. Strong hands-on software development experience, especially in Python. Experience designing scalable backend systems, distributed systems, and workflow orchestration platforms. Strong architectural thinking and the ability to translate complex concepts into production-quality software. Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and growing engineering teams. Strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills. Passion for solving challenging problems at the intersection of software engineering and complex technical domains. Bonus Points Understanding of quantum computing principles and execution models. Experience with quantum software frameworks such as Classiq, Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane. Experience with hybrid quantum-classical algorithms (e.g., VQE, QAOA, or quantum machine learning). Experience integrating with cloud platforms or external compute providers.
