Founding Senior Software Engineer

Description A growing early-stage FinTech startup company, building a next-generation financial platform for companies, is looking for its Founding Senior Software Engineer to join the founding team and play a key role in shaping the product, architecture, and engineering culture from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity for a senior engineer who enjoys ownership, technical challenges, and building impactful products in a highly hands-on environment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and own core features across the full stack. Build scalable backend services, APIs, and data workflows. Develop React-based frontend applications. Design reliable PostgreSQL data models and ensure data integrity. Take ownership of features from concept to production. Collaborate with the CTO and founders on architecture and product decisions. Contribute to engineering practices, infrastructure, and AI-assisted development workflows. Requirements 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. Strong full-stack development background with hands-on experience with React and Rust (or similar technologies). Experience building production-grade web applications and scalable systems. Deep understanding of PostgreSQL, relational data modelling, transactions, and data integrity. Experience designing reliable systems where correctness and consistency are critical. Ability to independently drive projects end-to-end with high ownership. Strong product mindset and ability to work closely with non-engineering stakeholders. Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with ambiguity and changing priorities. Experience using modern AI development tools and AI-assisted workflows. Advantages Previous experience as a Founding Engineer/early-stage startup engineer/ taking products from 0→1. Experience in FinTech, financial systems, equity compensation, financial markets, data analytics, statistics, or other regulated industries. Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
