Job description

Description Head of Treasury & Payments About Okoora Okoora is the AI-native intelligence layer that operates finance. Across accounts, payments, FX, exposure, and money flows, Okoora turns financial activity into action by policy. Our technology is live across global banks, fintechs, and enterprises, operating complex financial flows across multiple currencies, entities, and markets. The Role We are looking for a senior, hands-on Head of Treasury & Payments to lead the financial operations behind Okoora's global money movement. You will own our day-to-day treasury and liquidity operations, payments and settlements, wallet activity, and financial reconciliation. You will maintain a clear and reliable view of where money is held, what is expected to move, what has moved, and which exceptions require action. Reporting to the CEO, you will directly manage the Payments & Settlement team and work closely with Finance, Trading, Compliance, Data, Product, and R&D. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong financial judgment with operational discipline and is comfortable moving between the big picture and individual transactions when something does not add up. What You'll Do Own the daily cash and liquidity position across banks, wallets, payment providers, legal entities, accounts, and currencies. Build and manage daily and forward-looking cash flow forecasts, including expected-versus-actual analysis. Manage liquidity allocation, prefunding, intercompany and inter-account transfers, credit facilities, limits, permissions, and banking relationships. Lead payments and settlements end to end, from funding and execution through confirmation, reconciliation, and closure. Oversee the cash and settlement aspects of payments, FX conversions, and hedging transactions, including failures, delays, and funding dependencies. Own the monitoring and control of wallet balances and money movements, including incoming and outgoing payments, fees, conversions, credits, and corrections. Ensure full traceability of money movements across wallet ledgers, payment providers, banks, internal systems, and financial reporting. Identify, investigate, and drive the resolution of missing, duplicate, incorrect, delayed, or unexplained transactions. Own reconciliation across wallet ledgers, banks, payment providers, internal systems, financial reporting, and the ERP. Build structured processes for financial exceptions, including ownership, root cause, aging, SLAs, escalation, and closure. Directly manage and develop the Payments & Settlement team, setting priorities, service levels, and approval controls. Build the KPIs, operating routines, data visibility, and automation needed to scale Treasury, Payments, and Reconciliation. What We're Looking For 3+ years of relevant experience in Treasury, Payments, Cash Management, Settlement, Financial Operations, or Reconciliation. At least 1 years of direct people-management experience in a finance or payments environment. Hands-on experience managing liquidity, cash flow, banking operations, payments, and settlement. Practical experience with wallet ledgers or account-based money movement, including transaction monitoring and reconciliation. Experience working in a complex, multi-currency environment across multiple banks, payment providers, entities, or systems. Strong understanding of FX flows, prefunding, payment providers, banking operations, and financial controls. Strong financial and accounting understanding. CPA qualification is not required. Advanced Excel skills and strong experience working with BI tools. Strong English and the ability to investigate complex issues and drive them through to resolution. Nice to have: Experience with cross-border payments, hedging, treasury or reconciliation automation, SQL, or building and improving Treasury Operations, Payments, or Reconciliation functions. Why Okoora This is an opportunity to lead a core function at the heart of Okoora's financial operations. You will manage an existing team, have direct impact on how liquidity and payments are operated, and build the Treasury & Payments infrastructure required to support a growing global fintech operating across complex, multi-currency financial flows. Own the movement of money. Build the operation that makes it reliable at scale.

About Okoora

Every platform that moves money across borders is sitting on a revenue stream it doesn't own. The FX economics generated by its own customers flow silently to external banks and third-party providers. The platform builds the product. The platform earns the trust. Someone else takes the margin. This isn't a pricing problem. It's a structural one. FX has never had its own infrastructure layer. Until now. Okoora is the embedded FX infrastructure layer that sits inside any platform touching cross-border commerce. Invisible to the end user. Generating economics for the platform from day one. Not a new product for customers to buy. A new capability for platforms to own. The results are proven: one client activated the infrastructure across its existing customer base and generated over $30 million in new revenue within 24 months, from customers it already had, without acquiring a single new one. Founded in 2021. Processing billions in annual transaction volumes. Operating across EEA, US, UK, Canada, and APAC. Embedded FX Infrastructure. We built the category that should have existed years ago.
