Job description

Physicist – R&D Electro-Optics Team Member Location: Or Akiva. Responsible for defining, selecting, and characterizing critical components in the company's products – including lasers, thermal engines, day and night optics, displays, LRFs (laser rangefinders), and additional electro-optical components. The role combines technical engineering responsibility with supplier management and testing processes. Main Responsibilities: Engineering & Technical Leadership Defining technical requirements for critical electro-optical components in accordance with product and system requirements. Responsibility for selecting, characterizing, and tailoring components to meet performance, reliability, and cost requirements. Supporting design and integration processes for components into subsystems and systems. Solving complex engineering problems in the fields of optics and electro-optics. Supplier Management Maintaining ongoing professional communication with domestic and international suppliers. Managing evaluation processes, market research, and comparative analysis of suppliers and technologies. Leading co-development processes with suppliers when required. Managing technical specifications and ensuring supplier compliance with requirements. Testing & Experiments Defining test methods and procedures for electro-optical components and subsystems. Planning, executing, and analyzing results of experiments and characterization tests. Defining requirements for test equipment and lab infrastructure required by the team. Responsibility for documenting test results and drawing engineering conclusions. Requirements: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electro-Optics Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of proven experience in the development of electro-optical components or systems. Experience in managing an engineering team – significant advantage. In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas: lasers, day/night optics, displays, thermal engines. Experience working with international suppliers. Leadership capabilities, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment under schedule pressure.
